Do the cabins at River of Life Farm have actual river access?
Yes. Every cabin and river home includes access to the North Fork River. Check our cabin map to see where each cabin is located in relation to the river. Guests enjoy swimming, fishing, floating, relaxing on gravel bars, and exploring the river throughout their stay.

Which cabins are closest to the river?
White Oak, Cedar Chest, Falls House, and Trout Loft are located closest to the river’s edge. If being just steps from the water is important to you, these are excellent choices.

How far apart are the cabins?
River of Life Farm spans over 500 private acres. While some cabins are tucked away in the woods and others are closer to resort amenities, none are closer than approximately 30 yards to another cabin, allowing for a quiet and relaxing stay.

Is River of Life Farm family-friendly?
Absolutely. Families return year after year to enjoy floating, fishing, hiking, campfires, wildlife, and time together outdoors. We offer cabins ranging from romantic couples cabins to large homes that sleep up to 14 guests.

How much do the cabins cost?
Cabin rates vary depending on the cabin, season, day of the week, and occupancy. We have cabins for 2 people, 14 people and everything in between. Rates range from $168 to $1279 nightly. Visit our booking page for current rates and availability.

Is there enough to do at the resort, and are there restaurants nearby?
Many guests spend their entire stay on the property without ever leaving. Activities include floating, trout fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, campfires, stargazing, swimming, and relaxing beside the river. The Lodge Restaurant is located on-site and offers meals by reservation, making it easy to enjoy your vacation without leaving the resort.

Do you offer float trips on the river?
Yes. We operate our own outfitting service, offering canoe, kayak, raft, and tube rentals on the North Fork River. Float trips include shuttle transportation, boats, paddles, and adult life jackets. (Families with very young children should bring properly fitted Coast Guard-approved life jackets for them.) Guests board the shuttle at the Lodge, ride upriver, then float back to the resort.

Is fishing available on the property?
Yes. River of Life Farm offers direct access to the beautiful North Fork River, one of Missouri’s premier trout streams. Whether you’re an experienced angler or simply want to spend a relaxing afternoon on the riverbank, excellent fishing is available just steps from your cabin. A Missouri fishing license is required and can be purchased online through the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Is there Wi-Fi and cell service?
Wi-Fi is only available at the main Lodge, not at the cabins. The signal extends into the parking area so that guests can access Wi-Fi at all hours if needing to check in with the outside world. Cell service varies by carrier and location throughout the property. One of the things that guests come back for year after year is the truly "unplugged" aspect of the property.

What is the closest town to the cabins?
River of Life Farm is very secluded. The closest town. and a 40 minute drive, with restaurants and brand name businesses is West Plains Missouri. Privacy is one of the things guests love most about River of Life Farm. Some cabins are tucked deep into the forest, while others overlook the river or are conveniently located near the Lodge. Each cabin offers a peaceful setting surrounded by nature.

Are pets allowed?
Yes, but only in our Dogwood Cabin. Guests may bring up to one dog (45 lb weight limit) for a $100 pet fee. Pets must remain leashed when outdoors and are not permitted on shuttle buses or inside the Lodge Restaurant.

Do I need a four-wheel-drive vehicle?
No. Most guests arrive in standard passenger vehicles without any difficulty. Our private gravel roads are well maintained, although we recommend driving carefully and allowing extra travel time due to our rural location. If you have a low-profile car, it's a good idea to reach out so that we can suggest the cabins that might be easiest to get to.

What should I bring?
We recommend bringing groceries, beverages, fishing gear if you plan to fish, sturdy shoes (think gravel roads and uneven terrain), sunscreen, bug spray, and any personal items you’ll need. If you miss something, we carry last-minute essentials in our on-site store, and there is a Dollar General just 10 minutes up the road. Cabins include linens, towels, cookware, dishes, coffee makers, and basic kitchen essentials.

Are the cabins fully furnished?
Yes, all of our cabins include furnished kitchens (or kitchenettes in Lodge Suites), bathrooms, heating and air conditioning, all linens, towels, cookware, dishes, coffee makers, hotel size shampoo, conditioner, and soaps, dish soap, and hand soaps. Amenities vary slightly by cabin, so check the individual cabin page for details.
