Hi Myron...

On behalf of our group, I thought I would drop you a line! Once again we had a great time at the River of Life Farm. Our camping spot was perfect and close to the showers/restrooms. We also appreciated the plug in adapter that you had provided at the electrical hook-up. It made it easy to get power to the camper. The picnic table and the fire-pit with the grill were also a plus.

Our group of four spent two days on the river fishing for ‘bows and browns. The weather was hot and sunny with very little wind. Sunscreen and lots of water was mandatory. We all noticed how the river had changed since the high waters of earlier in the year. That meant that there were new holding spots to discover while some of our favorite spots from previous trips remained. It seemed that between the four of us, we had strikes and caught fish the entire length of the river. We were joined on the river by groups of people on rafts and canoes enjoying a float down the river.

The first day I was very pleased to land my first wild trout on my first ‘real’ fly rod set up. What a thrill! The very nice ‘bow hit a prince nymph on the drift and was returned safely to the river after an admiring look and a picture. I ended up the day bringing a couple more ‘bows to the net. I also missed a few strikes. The other members of my group each caught a few more than I as their experience showed.

The second day was pretty much a repeat of the first. However, towards late afternoon we all saw a very big fish arch out of the water to take ‘something’ off the surface!

Our guess was it was a big trophy brown. Later on as the sun began to set, the light was hitting the water ‘just right’ and while standing on the bank, or even sometimes while in the water, we all could pick up the ‘flash’ off the side of the fish in the stream. We caught two of the nicest fish during the second day. A ‘bow and a brown both in the 18-20 inch range. The colors were incredible!

We used stone fly imitators, pheasant tails, hare’s ears, prince’s, ‘crackle-backs’, and others, too. We caught fish on all of them! We all mixed it up trying to find that best presentation! We fished the entire stretch of the river and worked hard. We were rewarded with strikes, fish in the net, and a wonderful time on the River of Life!

See you again!
