Myron told me it would be a tough day.

"Mark, the fishing has been slow. I hope you’ll catch a fish or two. But...well, the Lord may not bless you with a fish this weekend."

Myron, being Myron, was honest and up-front about the fishing situation in early September. The water had been low, relentless canoers would wreck havoc on the river on Labor Day, and the fish just would not bite much. Well, I was forewarned but ignored the warnings and traveled to the river from Washington DC.

To make a long story short, I caught the biggest natural brown trout of my life and I also caught the most beautiful rainbow I had ever seen. I caught about 15 fish during the day and a half I fished.

Myron had a guide working for me who was as knowledgeable as he was enthusiastic. This young man put me on fish and helped me develop my skills. He was a teacher and a darn good one. I had a great time with Myron and his guide, Rory.

On Friday all of the hookups were made using the #8 black rubber legs. Saturday, the big hookups were on a #8 conehead black rubber legs fished as a streamer.

I’ll be back. In fact, I cannot wait until Spring.

Thanks Myron
