Im
13 and this was my first fly fishing trip. It was about seven p.m. on July 12th when Myron set my rod up with an orange egg with a lead weight 6 inches up from the egg and he went down to the river with me and showed me what to do. It wasnt ten minutes before I caught my first rainbow trout Myron up graded me and my mother without charge to the Wren cabin from the Fishermans Room (my mother was pleased). We woke up in the morning ate a couple of waffles and went to Myron's house so we could get a canoe to get to each riffle. I fished the first riffle (The Falls) with my mom and didn't catch anything. I fished the next riffle and caught a rainbow trout that was about ten inches long on a black rubber legs. Then I caught a brown trout that was about eighteen inches with the same fly, from the canoe that my mother was steering along the deepest water which was about four feet deep. Then I caught a sucker on the same riffle as the brown trout. Then I caught another rainbow trout on a prince nymph that was about ten inches. That was the last fish of the trip. Todd G. |
