The weekend of the 14th of August at River of Life Farm turned out to be one of the best fishing trips I’ve had in a long time. My wife accompanied me on this trip; and even though she doesn’t fish, she had a very relaxing and enjoyable time at the "Wren cabin" where we stayed over the weekend.

Friday evening I fished the riffle below The Falls with a dry fly, Royal Trude, size 14. I was able to catch five rainbows. The largest was ten inches!

On Saturday morning, I fished the riffle above The Falls. Using a "Prince Nymph", size 12, I landed one trout that was twelve inches long.

Sunday morning, the best spot for me was the big rock above McKee Bridge. I caught three rainbows; the first one was ten inches, the second one was fourteen inches! I used an olive "Woolly Bugger". The third one caught at The Falls was twelve inches.

During August ,the waters of the North Fork are low, clear, and there is a lot of moss.

The best time to go fishing is during the week, if you can, because of the canoe traffic which starts about noon on Saturday. Although the trout will still take a fly, they could be spooked due to canoe activity.

Good Luck fishing!
